Privacy

The short version: we collect as little as possible, and we can't read your files.

Last updated:

This is the early-access version of our privacy policy, kept short on purpose. It describes what actually exists today; the full policy arrives at public launch.

This website

This site is fully static — plain pages with nothing running behind them. It sets no cookies. It loads nothing from third parties: the fonts are self-hosted, and there are no analytics scripts, no trackers and no embedded widgets.

The only browser storage it uses is localStorage, for two things: your theme choice (light or dark) and whether you've dismissed the announcement bar. Neither ever leaves your browser.

The app

OutVault is in early access. It is built so that your files are encrypted on your device before they sync anywhere, which means we cannot read them — that is a property of the design, not a policy we ask you to trust.

The app carries its own full privacy policy from public release. Until then, this page is the honest summary.

What we never do

  • We don't sell data.
  • We don't run ads — not here, not in the app.
  • We cannot read your vault contents. That's "cannot", not "choose not to": your files are encrypted before they leave your device, and we hold no key.
