Why OutVault exists
The files that prove a life deserve one safe place that answers only to you.
Somewhere along the way, the paperwork of being a person went digital. The passport scan, the lease, the insurance letters, the family photos, the passwords — the records that prove who you are and what you own became files.
Most of those files settled into ordinary cloud services, and ordinary cloud services can read what they store. Nothing sinister happened; custody just changed hands by default. The most personal records people own now live where someone else holds the keys.
Encryption could have fixed this long ago. But encryption, as usually offered, arrives wrapped in jargon — key ceremonies, recovery phrases, a small second language to learn — so the protection stayed with the people willing to study it.
OutVault is a bet that none of that is necessary: a vault sealed on your device before anything leaves it, working with or without the internet, explained in words anyone can check, and exportable the day you want out. Private by design, plain by choice, no lock-in.

Your vault is sealed on your device before anything leaves it — being unable to read your files is a property of the design, not a promise you have to trust.
Offline is a feature, not a failure
The vault runs entirely on your devices. A connection syncs it; it is never required to use it.
Your files come with you
Export everything, any time, in ordinary formats. A vault you can't leave isn't yours.

No jargon, no fluff, no claim we can't back — if we can't explain it simply, we don't ship the sentence.
